I founded Beautifully Awkward because small talk is painful. Not mildly uncomfortable — genuinely painful.

I spent years watching people sit across from perfectly interesting humans and perform the same tired script. How are you. What do you do. Nice weather. The conversation that never gets anywhere because no one ever asks the real question.

The clearest proof that something better was possible came through a friendship that started in the deep end of hard conversations. No small talk allowed. Just real questions, real answers, and two completely different worlds meeting in the middle. That friendship changed me — and it only existed because surface-level was never an option.
